Some people have too much sugar in their blood. They are suffering from diabetes and are known as diabetics. The extra sugar in their blood makes them tired and thirsty. If nothing is done about it, the person loses weight and may eventually die.
The kidneys try to get rid of the extra sugar, so one of the signs of diabetes is that glucose is present in urine. In the old days, doctor used to tell whether or not a patient had diabetes by tasting the urine to see if it was sweet. Nowadays, a simple test is used. (Benedicts solution test)
