The Dreaming is an album that is distinct from the rest of Kate’s recordings. This is an album of experimentation, innovation, fantasy and freedom.
Kate Bush was discovered by Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour. He was so awed by the imaginative quality of her songwriting that he financed a few demo recordings. EMI Records were equally impressed and in an unusual act of faith decided not to record her immediately. Instead, she was encouraged to develop her writing and singing in preparation for a long term career.
In 1978, her first single Wuthering Heights was released. Inspired by Emily Bronte's novel, Bush had created a hauntingly original piece that reached number one on the charts in the UK. Her next release was an album called The Kick In
