As I sat in my English 101 course my freshman year of college at the University of Maryland at College Park, preparing to write my Final Position Paper, I wondered if we were here at the University of Maryland lingering towards a dream of equality, or are we murdering that dream with reverse discrimination? I sometimes imagined what Martin Luther King Jr. would say about this debate over the controversial topic of affirmative action and Proposition 191. Judging by the increase in a genuine fight by the students to bring all Americans - whether European, African, Hispanic, or Asian precedes the word with a hyphen – to fair standings, I feel that it is a testament to the idea of equality that is at the for front of the fabrics of American
