Louis and Clark expedition

Who would of thought that a plant could treat headaches or for the use of certain cancers? Among these plants they found some that do that. They’ve also identified three new species along their expedition. The plants that they discovered were the Pacific Yew, Purple Coneflower, and Sticky Currant. The Pacific Yew appears along the west coast of the United States from southern Alaska to central California. The Pacific Yew is an evergreen tree that is slow-growing, and fairly small. They found taxol in the bark of the tree which helps fight cancer. The second plant, the Purple Coneflower, is a large flower. It looks like a daisy with a swept black, reddish purple ray.
