3dfx’s The Launching of the company

The story of 3dfx’s started with Scott Sellers, Gary Tarolli, and Ross Smith who in 1994 had an Idea of launching a company that creates a 3D chip that could be used in both arcade machines and home PCs. There Idea was to be able to write games for the Arcade market, and then port their best selling tittles to the PC for twice the profit. There first retail silicon (the Voodoo Graphics chipset) was just a modern 3D gaming to the PC. The engineering conspiracy actually began with STB in 1998.
In 1998 STB demo’d a 440BX- based motherboard featuring a soldered on nVidia TNT chip, soon after 3dfx bought it. Early 1999, a Brazos reference board was ready, so the 3dfx team brought the Voodoo3 motherboard and in the end, the STB engineering team
