The set design of The Shadow of a Gunman was extremely captivating. A proscenium stage, using only one set was used in the performance of this play. The properties on stage were extremely important. They appeared to be dusty- looking and worn- out. This helped set the mood and tone for the play. I found it especially effective when the Auxiliary officer came in and started raiding the room. Overall the audience was a prepared audience, so for the most part we knew what to expect, but it frightened us when the actual objects were breaking right before our eyes. During the intermission, you were able to see the running crew on- stage straightening up the room.
The costume design of the actors and actresses were very carefully thought out.
