In the upland forest area of Castlewood 5 trees were found, the most abundant canopy trees were oak trees. There were 3 trees of the oak species found, which included 2 White Oak Trees and 1 Eastern Oak Tree. Other tree species, such as the Sassafrass and Shagbark Hickory were also found. However, in the understory forest area 9 trees were found. 5 Hickory trees were found making them the most abundant. The Hickory species included 2 Shagbark Hickories and 3 Mackernut Hickories. Sassafrass, Blackjack Oak, White Oak, and Black Walnut were also tree species identified in the understory forest area.
