The 17th century was a time of great change on North American soil. It was a time when thousands of Europeans crossed the Atlantic to settle in this newly discovered land. It was a land many Europeans never thought existed and it opened up a whole new array of economic advancement for the colonizing Europeans. The colonizers ran into a variety of problems, with one of the biggest being the natives, who inhabited the land long before the Europeans knew it was there. For the most part, the colonizers mainly saw the natives as pests, and they did a good job of disposing a good portion of them in a short matter of time.
