Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are among the most common infectious diseases in the world. Million of people contact one or more STDs every year. STDs often cause no immediate symptoms, especially in women. These diseases can have serious long-term consequences such as painful breakouts, reproductive system damage, cancer, and death. You are at risk of contacting a STD when you a have multiple sex partners, you have unprotected sex, or you abuse drugs, including alcohol. There is 28 known sexually transmitted diseases, but I’m going to just talk about a few. Such as HIV/AIDS, Human papillomavirus, Herpes, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Hepatitis B, and Syphilis.
