Acupuncture: Medicine or Placebo

Acupuncture is the art of burying thin needles under the skin at sensation points along the body. Since its birth in China over two thousand years ago, it has been seen through the skeptical eyes of Western society. Over the past few years many people (doctors and not) have tried to prove that this practice is nothing more than one big placebo. In a normal placebo control study containing prescription pills, a sugar pill is introduced to see if the results continue in the same way as with the original medication.
