The outstanding works of Edgar Allan Poe have been used for years to scare and astonish its readers. His works have been said by some to be the best horror / thriller stories ever written. This is no small task considering the fact that most of his stories are short stories. Two of his short stories have been found to be very similar in more than just a couple of ways. The stories of comparison are The Cask of Amontillado and The Tale-Tell Heart.
The Cask of Amontillado was written with the absence of an era. The story shows no real sign of being dated. The only thing it shows is a location, where catacombs were commonly used. In similar fashion The Tale-Tell Heart was written with no particular time period in mind. Throughout the story
