Rosemarie Rizzo Parse is the founder of the human becoming theory. Parse earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Duquesne University, her Master’s Degree and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. She is the founder and president of Discovery International, Inc, an organization that sponsors seminars and provides consultation services related to nursing education, research, and practice. She is also the founder and editor of Nursing Science Quarterly. Dr. Parse is founder of the Institute of Human Becoming, where she teaches the ontological, epistemological, and methodological aspects of the human becoming school of thought. In 1987 she was named Christine E. Lynn Eminent Scholar in Nursing at Florida Atlantic University. D
