In society today, public opinion about a “biotechnological future” is divided. The supporters argue that biotechnology is the key to the future, as it may have the potential to eliminate many of the world's problems and may also benefit mankind in many ways. On the other hand, the opponents say that the negative consequences of the advances in biotechnology outweighs the benefits and that we should not be tampering with life (affecting the natural order of nature), as it poses serious risks to human health and to the environment.
